My favourite thing about this well-paced read is the idea of empathy for the individual in such a place as NYC contained in it. Others who are not us, but who could easily be, who hurt and seek meaning as much as anyone else. You can tell you write for the right reasons!
I really enjoyed it Jake. There are some stains we can't ever wash off no matter how many times we throw it into laundry, but sometimes the magic is in the washing, in the spinning, in the drying, in the waiting, in the trying :)
I really enjoyed reading your piece. Interesting enough I'm doing laundry at home right now. The contrast of wet clothes and dry clothes are very captivating. I hate it when my clothes are wet because it makes me cold but I need to wash it so that the dirt comes off. Your piece made me appreciate the cycles the I need to go through so that I can be renewed again
Yeah I agree with you. The right lens makes all the difference. For me, the lens of time helps me see nuances and little details. I love being able to notice changes over time. I can sit and stare at the sunset for hours and be completely amazed, even though I seen it a million times. Would love to hear more about the lens you use to observe the world.
Sublime piece! Loved it! Greetings from a guy living in Spain who also has a thing for doing the laundry - and that white noise of the washing machine helps me focus and write :)

This was so gripping and intense. I loved all the weird and eerie bits and the depth. It makes me think of inception.. that kind of style.
Thank you so much, Sophie. I'm honored :)
I love the metaphors you used to describe one of the most mundane activities.
Thank you man :)
I don’t know how I stumbled on to this great read but it was enlightening, thank you for sharing
Thank you!
My goodness, this is beautiful Jake, just amazing.
I believed every word of what I just read and I doubt I can put my understanding into enough words
This comment really made my day. Thank you, Dami.

Hey Nuno! Nice to meet you :) thanks so much for reading !
Life’s cycles aren’t linear but recursive—loss, identity, and meaning all tumble together in the infinite wash.
Beautifully said, ARC.
just what i took from your story. great job.

So many laundry runs in NYC and I was never this creative or thoughtful about it. Thank you for this

Great story. Loved the details balanced by the unknowns and uncertainties that kept me reading.
